This week I started with copy of Week one and turned it into B&W.
I created a golden layer background. Erased at a very low opacity and flow around the flame to bring up the golden glow and merged the 2 layers.
Brought up a new layer of a marble layer I made ages ago and placed it on top, reducing the opacity to 25%. Increased contrast and brought the brightness down. Slightly adjusted the levels to gain some clarity and to highlight the flame. Did the same with exposure slides. Burned and smudged in the edges of the flame. Burned and smudged the top corners which were distracting from the focal point.
I like this version!! They all have a very abstract look but I think week one is my favourite because of the warmth it conveys!!

Thank you! When I chose this pic, I said it was to warm us up with the snow we’ve been getting but it became all the more something warm for me to look at since we’re about to break an all time record for snow here in the Boston area!

My favorite is week 1, as I like the reddish glow. I also like week 2, with the icy overlay.
