For a few weeks I’ve been playing around with acrylic paints, mostly experimenting with texture and now style as well. I showed you some of my scratch paintings that I did mostly to use as backgrounds and collage papers. Here’s what I did with the green scratch painting that I sent to Spoonflower.
It’s the background in a digital collage I did. I used it with a photograph I took in a friend’s yard in Cummaquid, MA.
I love it and had it done to use as a wholecloth quilted piece. It’s a yard wide and I’ll put it together with some eco felt and do some free motion stitching. It’s printed on a quality organic, cotton sateen and, although what you see here is actually my photograph, I couldn’t be happier with the job Spoonflower did.
Thanks to those who voted for my design – I got a lot of votes but didn’t win. It was fun to throw my hand in though.
Linking up with Nina Marie at Off The Wall Friday!
Nice to know Spoonflower does a great job. I’ve been thinking about designing my own fabric.

The first thing I did was to order some small samples on different fabric to see it firsthand before I did a real sizeable piece. And it’s worth spending a little more for the best fabric. Good Luck!
