New Silk Dyes

In between the downpours, I managed to get in some new silk dyeing and I love the new colors that range from the soft and lovely seafoam to a green that moves toward an olive, though a light olive color. The seafoam, which is more of a green than a blue, is from a variety of treatments that include an aluminum sulfate mordant, one or two soaks in weld dye, some mixed with osage dye and  another soak in copper. To add the olive shade I dipped it lightly in ferrous sulfate.

I think I had my fill of strict documentation, so I dyed much like I cook (without tasting) throwing a piece in this or another in that,,,oh, I want more of that and so on. More fun!
